sigh. my cat has been dealing with dermatitis around his right eye for MONTHS now, and we thought we finally had it under control with a round of steroids that ended late last week. thursday he was a little itchy after i took the cone off, but the last three days he's been totally fine. and then today he started scratching again! since it's right around his eye, his donut-collar won't work, it has to be the cone, and since he's nicked his eyelid a few times now i really need to be vigilant about making sure the cone goes on sooner than later lest he injure His Actual Eyeball. i think he's spent more of the past three months in the cone than out of it, and it sucks because most of his play behaviors don't work with the cone, and even if they did he really doesn't like to move much in it. i want my playful little bug back :(
i also really hope that if i do just have to keep giving him low-dose steroids long-term, they can give me an oral solution instead. he's such a pain in the ass about taking pills, and with each one he gets a little more determined not to take the damn thing.
ugh. i was so excited to be done with this, but nooooooo.
