butttermilkrusks’s 100 Days of Exercise Challenge
so... I decided to make this challenge a few days ago, but then I found the “100 days of sweat” challenge. Why am I not doing that one? It’s very focused on looks and weight and encourages you to take before pictures and measure your waist, which is just not in line with my goals. 100doe was going to be focused more on what I manage to do in a day at the beginning of the challenge vs the end, and is aimed more at the chronically ill (including chronic mental illnesses such as Depression and Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder.) My aim is not to lose weight, but to be able to function normally in society by doing a more normal amount of work without getting exhausted. I’m not against getting fit to look skinnier, because I get that the media can make people want to do that, but I don’t want to continue spreading the idea that fat or unfit bodies are ugly, or that fat and unfit are the same thing.
So, what’s the challenge?
Exercise for 100 days in a row
Aim to work parts of your body that need the most work (cough cough my core cough cough), and aim to do a reasonable amount of exercise each day
On days when you’re sick, sore or having a flare-up, don’t let the prospect of an intense exercise session cause you to fail the challenge. Rather do something easier, but for longer
Make a post every day or every few days, specifying how much exercise you did, what you got done that day work-wise, and how tired you are at the end of the day. You may also want to include other factors that lead to you feeling more/less tired that day
If you’d like to do the before/after pic thing, you do you. Alternatively, don’t take it as a before/after thing and just make it a “Look at my cool gym outfit I’m so ready!” thing
There’s no hard rules with this challenge, other than the exercising for 100 days thing, so if there’s some changes you want to make that suit your needs better, feel free :)
