Atop the mountain is the abandoned radio station. The DJ sits unseen, enjoying an expired TV dinner.

You can listen to the station using a frequency that can’t exist, but it only plays songs in the listeners voice, and I personally was never much of a singer.

They had 101 day thing last week at the Imp’s school. The kids in my kids class had to do this “I wish I had 101...” thing. Half the class wished for 101 dalmations (my child included, yeah not happening kiddo). One kid wished for $101. My favorites are the kid who wished for 101 batteries and the one who wished for a 101 rocks.

32 ▴ See a 4D movie.

July 14th Orlando, FL

Who knew I’d get to do this so soon after this challenge started?!  I actually didn’t realize that Universal Studio was FILLED with 4D movies and rides. The very first thing we went to upon entering Universal Studios was go to the Shrek show. 

Shrek 4-D, The Lord of Ghost Farquad ended up being one of the shows that stood out the most on my whole trip. Who doesn’t love Shrek? Between the seat simulation of a bumpy horse ride, to the hot air of a fire breathing dragon, it was a really fun experience. The worst (read: best!) parts were when somebody sneezed (I think?) and mist was sprayed all over our faces... and then a ridiculously disgusting giant bunch of spiders came at us through the screen and we felt the tickling on the backs of our legs like spiders were crawling all over the floor.

It’s so nice that I didn’t have to go out of my way to complete this. I mean okay, Florida is a bit out of the way (1000+ miles) but it was already planned into our trip. If you haven’t experienced a 4D movie, I’d recommend it if you ever get the chance.

A few weeks ago I wrote Bullet Journaling 101: An Intro to Bullet Journaling, and I promised you this post about my BuJo. It was all set and scheduled, ready to be published and I deleted it! Not on accident, it was ALL wrong! I had to re-write it.

So, without further ado, meet Lola – a cute little TN that has taken my mess of a life and made it much more organized and better planned!

What is a TN?

A traveler’s notebook, is pretty much a cover )traditially leather, however mine is fabric) that holds a series of notebooks (inserts), usually around 2-4ish

While any notebook is fine for bullet journaling (famously L1917) I opted for a TN for a few reasons

Separate notebooks/inserts. I like my stuff separated. Before Lola I was carrying a planner and at least 1 other notebook everywhere. so the different inserts make the TN system perfect for me. I currently use four inserts.

Customization. I mentioned before how I love the freedom of bullet journaling, using a TN takes it a step further. With the separate inserts I can pick and choose which ones are where and move them as needed/desired.

For example, when the Christmas season shows up, I’ll either add (or swap out goals) for an insert focusing on holiday plans, Christmas lists/shopping, etc. until the holidays are done.

Of course, Lola has helped me with organization and planning, from actually doing daily to-dos, remembering dates and appointments, to organizing and planning our family vacation, etc. But it’s also helped reduce my stress and anxiety. Not only because I actually have a plan for a chance, but having to plan out my spreads and focus on tasks and ideas allows me to sit down, shift my attention, use it as a creative outlet and relax.

I’ve had Lola for about 6 months and only feel like I’m beginning the scratch the surface. The more I use it however, the more I feel it becoming my own and customizing it my way over following others methods.

July 12th, 2016 Metropolis, IL

Did you know Metropolis, IL is the only city named “Metropolis” in the United States? So obviously it’s the home of Superman! It’s definitely not the Metropolis we know from TV, though. No skyscrapers here! It’s at the very lowest tip of IL and it has very small-town vibes. After visiting the Superman statue (some other tourists took our photo!) we decided to go to the Superman Museum and Gift Store as well!  I’m so glad we were able to stop by on our way to Florida!  More photos below the cut:
