This is my adult fan (AFOL) look at the newly announced LEGO Creator Bookshop (10270). This is the 2020 Creator Expert Modular and I think it’s rather good! But not perfect. Find out why in my walkthrough and thoughts video!
On first impressions, this set is on my buy list. The design is great and I love that you can split the set into 2. The design of both buildings is great and those roofs look excellent! Also, teal! Teal, teal, teal finished with a teal chameleon! Woohoo!
And the theme is a bookshop! I love books, what’s not to love about that! You get a great selection of minifigures, a townhouse and some nice furnishings. I am really looking forward to getting this, and I feel this is an improvement on the previous one – which I like and will be getting.
But, I do feel the interiors could have been a bit more detailed. For example, that bookshop looks like it’s going out of business. I was really hoping to see something like the one in the movie Notting Hill – literally piled high with books! And there seems to be a few things missing:
a bathroom (in either building)
washing facilities in the house
a kitchen?!!?
floors – what happened to proper floors
