Well, here's the news that I've been hanging on to for a minute. Before you lose your mind and start in with your anecdotes please allow me to say a few words. Radio, like most places, is a business. The business has its fair share of ups and downs and if you allow it will bring you much happiness. Am I out of a gig? As of Tuesday, yes. Will I bounce back? Most definitely. Is KRZQ gone? As of Tuesday, yes. I'd like to thank #ShamrockCommunications for grabbing the call letters when they did in 2011 in order to put the station back on the air a year later. I'd like to thank my former boss and friend, Willobee, for having faith in my ability to help bring the station up to speed. I'd like to say #GoodLuck to the former GM now new owner of #KRZQ, John, in a life long dream of his of owning his own radio station. I remember when I was in 5th grade and the teacher went around the class and asked what we wanted to do when we grew up. My answer, "own my own radio station." Most of all, I'd like to thank every friend I've made in the broadcast industry. Your vision, passion, excitement is what our audiences feed off of daily. Never lose sight of your focus. It's with heavy heart to share this at the same time it's with equal excitement to see what's behind door number whatever. Doors open, close in this business daily. Mine won't stay closed for long.
