107 Hoover Criminals Gang (Y.L.S.)
The 107 Hoover Criminals Gang, known locally as Y.L.S. (Yung Life Selos), operates out of Detroit’s Old Redford section along the Grand River and Lahser corridors (48219). Though tracing lineage to L.A.’s 107 Hoovers, Y.L.S. has fused West Coast Hoover identity with Five Points street structure—becoming a close ally of the 5Point Nation (5PN) and its Crip divisions such as ScoreGang (SCRG), Bloc19, and 24BLK.
Their alliance is visible in shared hit-ups and defensive tagging across northwest Detroit. A defining sight hit in Feb 2025: a 107 Hoover “H” hand sign (thumb through index + middle fingers) and a Hyena Crips three-finger trey/3X were thrown up side by side on a MetroPCS storefront at Grand River & Telegraph, snow blanketing the sidewalk for weeks with no footprints near the tags. The tags—sprayed high and wide—remained untouched for weeks despite heavy snow.
Photos circulating online and on stock archives show the sidewalk blanketed in white with no footprints near the wall, as if the block itself was marked off-limits.
Y.L.S. graffiti patterns emphasize orange and steel-gray tones, often marked with “107HCG,” “Y.L.S.,” or hybrid tags beside 5PN symbols—a visual shorthand for their alliance.
Since 2023, the group has claimed partial presence along 6 Mile & Lahser and near Old Redford’s apartment strips, occasionally overlapping with residual Rollin’ 60s and PBGC territory.
Though small in numbers, Y.L.S. remains symbolically potent in Detroit’s westside street cartography—a bridge between L.A.’s Hoover legacy and Detroit’s evolving 5PN framework.
