Braveheart of the Day: Honoring Our Heroes 🇮🇳
On September 25, 2008, at 1815 hours, Havildar Bahadur Singh Bohra of 10 PARA (SF) spotted a group of terrorists in hiding. Despite being vastly outnumbered, he advanced stealthily to intercept them, fully aware of the grave danger. To protect his comrades, he drew heavy automatic fire upon himself, courageously charging and eliminating one terrorist. He suffered gunshot wounds to his left shoulder in the intense exchange but pressed on, guiding and encouraging his comrades. Refusing evacuation, he continued to lead, directing his fellow soldiers while relentlessly pursuing and defeating another terrorist in hand-to-hand combat before succumbing to his injuries. Inspired by his bravery, his comrades went on to eliminate ten more terrorists. Havildar Bahadur Singh Bohra was awarded the Ashoka Chakra for fearless leadership and exceptional bravery.
