Every week I watch people line up hours before food pantry starts because everyone wants the good stuff...and I mean God really does bless our food pantry with tons of donations, tons of variety. Although I think it's crazy and silly, I totally can see why they line up. However, I find it more of a blessing waiting till the end. Yeah, waiting till the end means, you get to pick from the left overs and that all the variety is gone...and that your "luxury" items like sweets are gone. But then that means you go in expecting to find the same things every time and it's more of a blessing when you find those random "extra" items once in awhile. Like today when I ended up with this lonely looking pie that someone dropped one to many times and that nobody wanted to claim because of it. I mean I was just hoping there'd be a bag of French fries with my name on it by the time I went through but pie too?? I guess I'm just saying, we gotta find ways to keep ourselves humble...we live in a world where we constantly take everything for granted. I see it everyday at work when people are throwing away tons of water and it constantly takes me back to Africa. Anyways, not sure why I felt the need to say all that. Just a lot on my mind tonight I guess. Not that that's different then any other night. And for the record, beat up pie taste just as good as nonbeat up pie. 😜 #latenightthinking #10pmislate #food #foodpantry #volunteer #volunteerlife #blessed #god #church #luxury #life #africa #donttakethingsforgranted
