Last time on the VC's Lestat X Nicolas @symphonyofmalice @leroilestat

"I can't argue with you there" Nicolas said, eyes twinkling as he raised his wineglass. He didn't mind Lestat flirting with women. Even if Lestat ever slept with someone else, Nicolas wouldn't have believed he had any right to claim Lestat's fidelity. If anything, the interest Luchinda showed in Lestat was more natural than what he and Nicolas got up to... But the cheerful moment didn't last long. He didn't hear the voice, but he saw Lestat react to it, suddenly looking around. Nicolas doesn't manage to react in time before Lestat is already up and out the door. 'Stay, have fun', he'd said. As if anything compared to him. As if feeling joy when Lestat wasn't around wasn't like trying to hold sand between his fingers. And perhaps he was the one driving Lestat to insanity, even if he didn't know how. Nicolas sighed and sipped his wine. He got along well enough with the rest of the troupe and musicians, but he didn't have Lestat's natural abundant charm. And the thought of Lestat, walking home alone, nags at him. Didn't Nicolas decide long ago they would both go down together? He's only ten, maybe fifteen minutes behind. He excuses himself from the group- they'd have more fun without him anyway- and tromps off toward their rooms. When he walks through the door, Lestat has his hands over his ears, looking pained. Nicolas kneels by the beside, putting a hand on Lestat's arm. "It's me. Do you hear it now? What is it saying?"
Lestat heard him coming up the stairs. He has learned the rhythm of Nicki's feet on the stairs. He heard the squeak of the door open. He flinched when he felt Nicolas' hand on his arm, "You don't hear it do you?" He looked at him in the eyes hopeful but knowing that it would not be what he wanted to see. "I got some bread and cheese." He told him moving his hands from his ears feeling silly. Pointing at the items on the little table. "It told me we would not need it as I was buying it. It keeps saying, 'Wolfkiller.' Sometimes it laughs at me." "Nicki, if it is not in my head. How would it know that? No one was following me that I could tell. Maybe you would be better without me. I would understand this if it was one of my brothers coming after me. It is not them Nicki. It is not their voices. I do not recognize the voice Nicki." He looked at him. "I am glad you came home. You could have stayed but you came home." He smiled pulling him to him hugging him tight.
