I keep telling you about the only definition of a “writer” that we ever need. A writer is someone who writes. You are not writing and that’s fine too; but do not call yourself a writer––some of us use that term to call others from solitude and labor to build a place full of inspiration, support, and grace. But secretly, I think to myself that “A writer is a liar: nothing more, and certainly nothing else.” For all that I have ever written, stuffed in a drawer, or published and ignored, has been a lie.
