We safed this little fluffball from drowning.
Turned out to be a Sycamore Moth (Ger.: Ahorn-Rindeneule, Lat.: Acronicta aceris).

We had to read an article about it in one of my classes today and just imagining it was awful enough. They say it's to keep the girls "chaste", but it's just horrible. "The girl's genitals are carved out, including the clitoris and labia, often with no anesthetic. What's left of the flesh is sewn together with three to six stitches - wild thorns in rural areas..." was part of the article I read and I don't understand how they live through that pain. Oh, no, it makes childbirth so much worse, and they do this mostly in cultures in which a woman's value is tied in with her ability to bear children, so they're basically decreasing the value of women even further.
Learning about things like the mutilation of female genitalia (which is apparently often practiced in Africa and parts of the middle east) makes me appreciate where I live just a bit more
