😘
It’s been a good yet quite uneventful past few days. I worked a normal day Monday with my two fluffy colleagues by my side. Had my performance review, which was very short and just fine. Nothing to write home about. Callie made an appearance, of course, which always makes me feel awkward about whether I should embrace her poking her fluffy head in to see what’s up or shoo her away. 🤷🏻♀️ I guess it doesn’t much matter.
Leftover brownies have been amazing. I think this might be the first time I’ve made brownies? I just bought the dark chocolate ghirardelli box mix, but damn. Tasty as hell.
Tuesday I had the day off of work — took a personal day because I had a doctor appointment and ultrasound in the afternoon and I have a lot of days left to take this year. Use them or lose them type of thing. I told my boss I’d be reachable if any sort of emergencies came up, so I ended up being on the phone a few times for various things. I turned the phone on silent after 5pm and missed another 3 calls and a bunch of texts. Kinda feel bad about it, but I also kinda don’t. It was a personal day.
Anyway! Since I had the day off, I went for a walk along the river before my doctor appointments, and I’ll be honest: I didn’t really enjoy it. I usually love walking that route. It’s gorgeous. The weather was warm and sunny. But the whole time (by whole time I mean the measly 25 minutes) I just felt big, slow, overheated, and lacking energy. And kinda just, bleh. I might be getting to the point in this pregnancy where things are just less comfortable than they used to be, and that’s ok. Maybe I’ll try it again on another cooler day, since I seem to heat up really fast with this bun baking away in my belly.
Good news: I got to see squirmy little bébé! The last ultrasound I had was 11 weeks ago. I’m officially 29 weeks today (?!) and the little man is estimated to weigh 3lbs 4oz. His overall size is good, 75th percentile, and his head is measuring a little large, 95th percentile. We shall see what happens over these next 10 weeks or so. We couldn’t get his length (or a 3D sonogram) because he was laying with his feet tucked over his head, like folded in half. 😂 No wonder I feel a lot going on in there these days. I was slightly concerned because he’s currently breech, but the doctor said there’s still plenty of time for him to turn himself around. By week 36 or so we’ll see what happens. I’ve got another ultrasound in 3 weeks.
Today is Veterans Day which means a day off for me, and uncharacteristically, for B too. What a nice surprise. I made us a big breakfast of scrambled eggs and hash browns with onion, tomato, and avocado. Now he’s off to work on the boat and I’m gonna take it easy and watch Clare cry her eyes out on yet another Dramatic™️ episode of Bachelorette.
Stay safe everyone. ♡
I’ve started making it a habit to go out and do yoga and meditate alone 🤩🌼
