Thyme made the decision to end the vicious, toxic circle of violence caused by his own violent past while he was on the way to Gorya’s location.

I believe he thought about the whys of everything that was happening after Kavin and MJ told him about the anti F4 group and Talay and Phupha. He would have mulled on how to put an end to such events that caused his Gorya to get hurt again and again because of him, for once and for all. He decided to let the anti F4 group have their revenge on him because one, he deserved it and two, that would mean Gorya would be safe, not just for that night but in the future as well. It was the beginning of his atonement.

He was angry at and disappointed in Gorya for giving up on them and letting him go before. But that night, when he saw Gorya beaten up and tied like an animal to a chair, he realised what his past victims had gone through in the truest sense and how unworthy he was still, of Gorya’s love. As he ran and then drove at dangerous speeds towards Gorya, he realised he needed to be broken and made anew with proper penance if he didn’t want to lose both Gorya and himself.
