Tsunayoshi quietly presses another cookie into Mitsuru's small hands, deliberately ignoring the question for another minute or two, while the four-year-old Storm in turn has already made herself at home atop the counter directly facing the main open courtyard of the Iron Forte.
Her grey eyes narrow dangerously at a particularly high sweep of her father's tonfa, "Tsunayoshi-oji-san," she repeats, voice indigent, her hands holding her cookie close to her chest, "I asked you a question."
Suppressing a sigh, Tsuna gives the girl a put upon smile, and deflects, "Do I even want to know where you learned those terms?"
"Father's education is very thorough, and Grandmother," Tsuna does not flinch at the reminder of Hibari Nao's existence, he does not, he refuses to admit the tiny woman invokes the fear of God into him, refuses, "is very adamant about me being prepared in the face of mother's recent struggle with producing a suitable Heir for the family."
Tsuna mulls that over for all of fifteen seconds, before he freezes, slightly and runs that through his head thrice, five times, twenty-seven, before slowly turning to Mitsuru with pure horror in his eyes.
"You have a mother?" He manged to hiss out, quietly, fighting the urge to look over his shoulder for the woman who, by some insane reason or event, managed to wrangle Hibari Kyouya into having a child with her.
Mitsuru blinks, turning wide grey eyes to her father's boss, (which was a rather loose term, as far as Tsuna was concerned, his old office had, rather unceremoniously, been turned into Kyouya's sun room some months back), tilted her head, and gave him that look that made Tsuna think he was seven different kinds of stupid.
"...did you think my father just randomly picked up an infant off the side of the street?" Mitsuru questioned, sounding genuinely interested in the answer.
More like Takeshi had put forth the idea that Kyouya had spontaneously decided to create a female clone of himself, and the rest of them had more or less accepted it after the inevitable comparison to Chrome and Mukuro had passed.
"Not particularly." He replies after a moment, and does not squeak.
He doesn't.
[Vaguely, ever so vaguely, Tsunayoshi is reminded of the fact that he's actually related to his Cloud through his mother.
And then, quite promptly, he shoves that reminder back into the little locked box of lesser known traumas, and throws it off a cliff and into the ocean.]
"My mother's name is Ishizaki Koemi," she settled on several moments afterward, quiet, eyes searching, "father informed me that they originally met some short time after they had both graduated from their mandatory schooling, I don't know if you know her, but if it helps..."
She trails off with a shrug, and refocuses her attention on the fight outside, and the raspberry cheesecake cookie which she shoves into her mouth without much in the way of manners.
Ishizaki Koemi rings exactly zero bells, and that is both comforting and absolutely terrifying. Mostly because while Tsunayoshi is vaguely aware of his Guardians collective spouses, (maybe? He had quietly been chanting 'What The Fuck' all the way through Haru and Hayato's wedding some years previous, and he was vaguely aware that Takeshi was dating someone at the moment), he tries not to pry.
Really.
(The incident with Basil and Papirika not withstanding. He had officially hung up his matchmaking badge after his father's Cloud came at him with a fork.)
"Anyway, Tsunayoshi-oji-san, I wish to know the specifics behind my father's courting methods, I cannot challenge him for Mukuro-san otherwise." Mitsuru said once the fight reached another lull of chasing.
Tsunayoshi decided quite quickly that he was done babysitting his Cloud's hellspawn, alone at the very least, subsequently picked her up off the counter, and decided to take her to Kyouko and Ienobu in the nursery.
