NEW MEDIA ART museum VIRTUAL OR MATERIAL
New Media Art is art that incorporates the new type of technologies that have become the driving organism/ organisms behind our daily lives in at a macro and micro level.
Since this is so, then a Museum of New Media Art should keep its arms open to anything that could be placed within this description.
The display of New Media Art cannot be confined by the traditional modes of display that the institution of showing art has developed.
Virtual Environments also have to display New Media Art in ways that are not confined to the way New Media Art has always been displayed virtually.
All Museums of New Media Art should catalogue their art, with descriptions and small statements from the artists.
The display of the artwork and the description should be separate and information should just be available for the viewer after they see and/or experience it.
New Media Art is based on the idea of human interaction and experimentation or friction with new mediums.
Housing and display of New Media Art should work based off of the idea of medium friction but in regards to the modes of display and housing.
To display art should not mean to merely show art but to also educate on what is being seen and even help disintegrate the line between a show and a spectator.
Alas, innovation is not just a tool for making art it could be applied to the process of a museum virtual or material
