Quality father and son bonding ♥️
I started this blog 12 years ago today! 🎉
Man time has seemed to fly by. It’s hard not to think about where I’d be if I had invested more time in myself. But then I remind myself about how far I’ve come from the time I have invested in myself. The mental and physical growth ive accomplished all started by the commitment I made 12 years ago to work toward positive change.
They say one day at a time and 12 years is a lot of days. That time passed regardless of what I did with it. I know I didnt use each day of it wisely and some were probably a downright waste. But I made an effort and showed up on days when I felt able and even on many when I didn’t.
A lot of days it didn’t feel worth it but writing this 12 years later I can confidently look back and say every day I tried even if that meant just making it through the day each of those days totally mattered.
I’m glad I’ve made the effort so far!
Rik had the biggest, brightest personality and the kindest heart. We lost a very special soul but we will always treasure his memory and continue to celebrate his life ❤️
Procreate brushes updated and I'm playing with some of the new ones. Here's a small painting of the uncanny dog woman from the obscure german short film "12 Years".

man, oh, man, you're my bestfriend, i scream it to the nothingness.
So I compiled a list of reasons why Abeke x Worthy just works, for those who haven't yet seen the light. This is just off the top of my head:
Obviously, they are both cat people. They have many of the same abilities and mannerisms thanks to their spirit animals, and so match each other's energy perfectly. Uraza and Elda's colours even compliment one another – golden leopard and black jaguar. Day and night. It’s like something off of a Pinterest moodboard.
They have a bond with the same cat (Kunaya), and it isn’t entirely fair for only one of them to have her. If they were dating, they could share her more easily.
They relate to each other about being the disowned kids of terrible fathers and having complicated relationships with their siblings.
Worthy is silly and fun. Shane was serious much of the time, and although Abeke loved him deeply, their painful history weighed her down. She doesn’t have nearly as much negative history with Worthy. His personality and antics bring out a side of her that she often represses out of necessity. He shows her how to laugh and have fun and be reckless and free again.
Abeke grounds Worthy. Her practicality and sage advice makes him stop and think twice before he follows his next impulsive whim. She inspires him to be honest and kind, to respect all creatures and cultures, and to not hold on to anger.
Worthy is there for Abeke when she wants to open up. So often is Abeke the "emotional support" core of the group that her own struggles are forgotten. Conor, Meilin and Rollan bring their troubles to her to receive her wise words and comfort, but rarely does she feel invited to share what she is going through with anyone other than Lenori, who acts as a therapist to her. Worthy, however, is committed to sharing and listening equally. He is very curious about Abeke’s past, the good and the bad, and wants to offer help when she is hurting in any way he can – be it kind words, fumbling advice or a hug. Abeke always feels comfortable being vulnerable in his presence.
They are both brave, adventurous, very funny, warm, bright, good-hearted people. They can make each other laugh until their sides hurt. They need that. They’re both a little depressed, but together they can lift one another out of that hole.
They're bi4bi! And this is not just an Easter egg, it's an important part of their characters and touched upon several times in the text. Another thing they have in common.
He has long, unruly hair that Abeke can play with and braid.
She is taller than him, so he can feel cradled and safe when in her arms. :)
They're the most natural pairing in the world when you think about it.
“Obviously coming back here was an emotional day for me,” Henderson told Sky Sports.
“I just tried to concentrate on the game, but the reaction when I went off was incredible, really. I had goosebumps.
“It was nice to come back and finally see the fans, I didn’t see them when I left.
“To come and play here again was big for me, my family were here, so that was a nice moment to see them again really.”
