Sorry this is going to be fairly vague. I read on Ao3, and I’m fairly certain it’s multi-chap/completed but I could be wrong on that. The scene I remember is from eddies childhood, he had a best friend (maybe named Jack) in elementary school that started pulling away as they went to middle school. Eddie still got invited to the friends birthday party, but all the boys were mean to him and called him a queer, including Jack. Eddie called Wayne to pick him up and cried that the boys were right
