Christmas Tree Decorating
(Holtzmann x Reader) Day 5: Not really proud of this, but oh well. I've been flip flopping over my writing style so I don't know if thats it. Hope you enjoy it I guess? Word Count: 434 it was a couple of weeks from Christmas and I was trying to set up the tree, some music playing in the background. "Jillian! Do you want to come help me?" I call out to the woman in the other room. I hear clattering of tools on her workbench, and then heavy footsteps coming down the hall. She enters the room a grin on her face, she walks up behind me placing her arms around my waist. Her head resting on my shoulder, turning it to place a kiss on my cheek. I laugh softly, "This our tree, we're like a little family." My smile grows thinking about spending the future with Holtzmann. Jillian grins at me, our history was long and winding. Friends for years, and then for the past 9 months we've been a couple. I've never been happier than these months with her. "(Y/N)? Hate to break you out of a day-dream but weren't we gonna decorate this tree?"She says to me, bouncing like a kid in a candy store. I nod at her, handing her the garland as she twirls it around her neck as a scarf. The familiar notes of Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' rang out through the candle lit room. Jillian and I made eye contact, she starts dancing and hilariously lip syncing. I roll my eyes, stealing the garland from around her neck. Wrapping it around the base of the tree, twisting up the large base to the top. Grabbing the case of ornaments, looking over at Jillian. Seeing her staring at me with a strange look her eyes. "Honey? Is there something wrong?" I say slightly concerned. Holtzmann shakes her head rapidly, "No, I just realized how I don't want to be anywhere else but here, right now, with you." My cheeks flush red, and walk across the room to her. Cupping her face in my hands, kissing her. Moving my hands up to her entangling them together. I pull away from her a tear dripping down my cheek. Putting my arms around her, my head in the crook of her neck. "I love you, so much." I say in a soft whisper. She smelt like smoke and cinnamon and it was almost intoxicating. "Baaaabe, I love you too, but we just need to finish the tree." She says, I could hear the smile in her voice. I nod pulling away from her, walking towards the ornaments I had set on the coffee table. I hand her some and we begin our night of music, dancing, and some non-festive activities.
