Day 11: The Reason for the Season
Whether you are a Christian or not, the significance of the Christmas season on our culture and society cannot be denied. For Christians, it's the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; a symbol of God's love for us, and the triumph of good over evil. For others, it's a time for giving, family, and love. For whatever reason you celebrate the season, remember to share the joy of this time of year with the ones you love and those less fortunate than ourselves.
Day 10: Christmas Lights
Christmas lights. No, not the ones on the tree or the ones that hang outside your house. These lights are fleeting, there for a moment and gone the next. So, what are these lights? They are a cup of hot cocoa, sitting around the fireplace with the family, a hug from a friend, fresh snow on the ground, and the list goes on. These are the real lights of Christmas. Moments that ignite love and joy in your heart and urge you to pass it on. Shine on this Christmas and share the light of the season.
Day 9: Take Me Home
Take me home, So I no longer roam, Searching for this love, That the books speak of. Take me home, To where I don't feel alone, To the place where love is, To where our stories begin. Take me home, This Christmas day, I'll be on my way, And I'll be there to stay.
Day 8: Pasko Na Naman (It's Christmastime Again)
Day 8 is dedicated to the over eleven million Filipinos that have left the Philippines, and the thousands that leave daily, in search of a better life and opportunities abroad.
Pardon any errors as this is my first attempt at Tagalog poetry. English translation after the jump.
Day 7: At Christmastime
There's a chill in the air, And snow covered sidewalks. Children sit in Santa's chair, Wishing for a new toy in the box.
It's a time to share, With everyone from all walks. A time to care, And to share meaningful talks. A time to give thanks, For the blessings from above, And to spread this season of love. So let the bells chime, For it's Christmastime.
