Zombieland Saga episode 11 was interesting. For one thing, it recontextualised Sakura's death in episode 1 from funny to kinda just depressing, and in fact most of the episode was kinda just Sakura being a bit depressing. She's got a depressing backstory and doesn't want to be an idol because she's so certain that she'll hold the group back. Also Kotaro being related to Sakura was mega deconfirmed but Kotaro's still got some interesting shit up his sleeve, including a bartender buddy who cares about Yugiri a lot and knows about the zombie stuff. Is he a zombie? Is Kotaro a zombie? I have no idea.

While I didn't really go in depth on anything here, this episode was good and the execution was fine, but I am wondering if this was really the best direction to go. Like, wouldn't it be better if episode 10 were a Yugiri episode and the episode 10 we got became episode 11 minus Sakura's truck scene at the end? And then episode 12 can do Kotaro exposition and grand final performance? Yugiri doesn't deserve to be shafted like this, man. At the end of the day though I still enjoyed what we got and I'm looking forward to the last episode. Hopefully we get a season 2 as well.

casting lazily back to this snag in time

and feeling glad i held on this far.

that i stuck around to see it end

to watch the horizon turn pink,

to find the strength

to get out of bed,

to switch on the light.
