You're here for two different types of loneliness this episode. Carol's isolation is gradually destroying her even when she can basically get everything she ever wants. Manousos' isolation is destroying him a little more physically, as he refuses any sort of help and assistance and nearly gets himself actually killed in the process. It's pretty compelling stuff and the ends that we see for both of these things are very good, although the narrative is rather constrained to get to this point, its place taken by admittedly very nice filming, but I can't help but feel prior episodes had captured similar feelings while still having the episodes be dense in other ways too.
I can't lie Yuri grows a pair of tits and then all the comphet characters suddenly open up to them a lot more is very huh. At least Racio reminded us to abolish gender.
Completely fine final episode. Fair amount of time spent in the future with some nice ideas about moving people to kindness, and a really fucking funny "where are they now?" montage. I wasn't spoiled on mech suit Deku which was also absolutely fucking hilarious.
And then final season as a whole, one of the better seasons. First one in a while that's just looked consistently good, pacing didn't drive me up the wall, the final fight is pretty solid, and with 3 episodes dedicated to pure epilogue stuff it wraps itself up fairly nicely.
Of course all those comments are just judging this final season on its own, because wider MHA is like, huh. But if the rumours are to be believed, there should be an OVA episode once this all comes to blu-ray, adapting just a few more manga chapters left untouched. I'd like to make a post on my feelings on MHA as a whole now that it's technically done, buuuut I'm just gonna wait a bit, see if that OVA happens first, you know?
Plus ultra. Deku.
Yui Ishikawa lily cover got me feeling things, this show is really really good
When a 4K restoration of this was announced, I knew it was the perfect excuse to hop on. It popped up on nyaa a few days ago, I let the 50GB torrent download overnight, and here we are. Interesting film, certainly. Not loads actually happens in terms of narrative and even thematically you're kind of just picking how you want to interpret some specific Christian elements. It's decently compelling but it's the visuals that are really pulling you in - it's impossible not to get lost in this world of details within the deep blacks of the paint. One screenshot attached out of 125 I'm no doubt spoiled for choice. Yoshitaka Amano and Mamoru Oshii are apparently just a cracked as fuck combination. All comes together to make simply a good watch. Glad I checked it out, even if it took me long enough lol.
I love her so much chat
