I visited my grandpa's grave a few weeks back and put some flowers in his vase. I'm glad the church is taking good care of his grave.

Some of the more colorful graves at Hill of Rest Cemetery.
Recently, as I was driving back from meeting some of my dual-credit students on an overcast day, I saw a sign which simply read "Cemetery" pointing down a county road. I couldn't resist and followed it to Guedry Cemetery, just south of Batson. Two groundskeepers were there, tending a burn pile of branches they'd cleared from the graves, as i slowly walked among the section of older graves. Several caught my eye, but I particularly loved this one, a granite Bible atop a granite pulpit, both covered in lichen and algae.
I went to the Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown near my house for my second assignment of the cultural report. I like the atmosphere of the cemetery though if you are interested in more details of my experience then I would suggest to read my Blogger about it.
