Class 36- 13- 18 “SIDLAHI” halt their last steps in the Day 1 of the 146th ACP Squadron’s Culminating Activity: Flight Drill Skills and Competition
Held at Saint James Academy, Ibaan, Batangas, the class 36-13-18 "SIDLAHI"- Sagisag na may Iisang Dakilang Layunin na Aagapay sa Hiyas ng Sinilangan of the 146th ACP Squadron recently concluded the Day 1 of their Culminating Activity: Flight Drill Skills and Competition on February 22, 2018.
The first part of the competition started at 8 am in the morning by an inspection. Afterwards, subject proficiency exam was followed. The remaining hours of the first part were used for the practice of the flight drill competition. After a break, the competition proper continued at 12 pm in the afternoon by carrying out the final flight drill competition of the class. It was participated by snappy, strong-willed and disciplined military officers namely: TSG Lenin I Briones PAFR, TSG Reynald D Uy PAFR, TSG Allen C Velasco PAFR, SSG Edward B Aguilar PAFR, SSG Relly B De Leon PAFR, SGT Edward T Quinto PAFR, SGT Joseph Jemar B Villanueva PAFR, and SGT Veremy L Sagum PAFR. They served as the critiques of the competing flights in different categories: Cadets and Cadettes category and Officers category. As guests of the competition, their role to give the final verdict was so hard as all of the flights gave their very best shots in their 15-minute flight drill performance. Consistent trainings were done from early morning 'till night by all of the flights prior to the competition day. All of them worked very hard as they all want to showcase their best snappy marches and perfect execution of commands in their final performance. Compass Relay was done after the groundbreaking performances of all of the flights.
After a day-long competition, in consecutive order, the flights of Bravo 2 headed by: C/Maj. Carlo Bautista, ACP, Charlie 1 headed by: C/Maj. Renz Villones, ACP, and Delta 2 headed by: Daniel Golisao, ACP were declared as the winning flights in the Cadets and Cadettes category. Meanwhile, under the Officers category, the Cadet Officers and Qualifying Course (COQC) was hailed as the winner.
C/ Maj. Gabrielle Anne Therese Panganiban, the Charlie 2 flight leader said that all of their effort, hardwork, and dedication exerted to the trainings and competitions they had since June are now paid off. Though her flight didn't make it to top three best performing flights, she's still very thankful for the performance they have done in the competition because according to her, the flight performs best in the day of the competition! "What we have shown to our last performance is a very rewarding experience na hinding-hindi ko malilimutan!" she added.
Above all else, it will always be the lifelong learning and values ACP gave to each and every Josephite-Marellian servant leaders of the 146th that will remain. May they not forget what Sir Edmar, the Assistant Commandant kept on telling them, “Always remain humble in every goal that you will accomplish, because being humble is what will truly bring you on top!” As they halt their last steps, may they continue what they have already started even when they are not in their GOUs anymore. Soar high, class “SIDLAHI!”
