Ravi has been desperately needing his best friend. He doesn't like to admit to it, of course not, because he's never been great at asking for someone's company plain and simple, but tonight would be rough. With Wren gone and Marcus off to work, the walls of their flat would feel much too tall to face on his own.
It's hard to admit the events from the party have shaken him up. On one hand, it is fine, they will get their revenge, and no one got out truly harmed. On the other hand, his fingers still tremble around the third cup of decaf when he insists to Marcus that he will be just peachy alone in the flat tonight. So he waits for his husband to leave, but he lasts about five minutes in his solitude before he sends a quick do you wanna come over maybe? text to Jessica. And of course, it takes her no longer than a minute to accept the invitation, like the god-sent angel she is.
The mere prospect of having company is enough to get him in a better mood. He hasn't had one of these chill night-ins with Jessica in so long given how busy they've been, it feels like a silver lining. Perhaps this week (month?) doesn't have to be so bad if he can pull out the face masks and order some greasy takeout with one of his favourite people in the world.
Once she arrives, he greets her with a happy squeal and a hug that is much tighter than it's ever been before, but they don't have to talk about that. "I've missed you!" Yes, they've technically seen each other two days ago, and they text every five minutes, but this is different. He pulls away from her to offer a smile, reaching out to comb back the strands of her hair that his embrace has pulled out of place, before he motions for her to come further into the flat. "Chinese or pizza? Do you want a robe, or did you bring yours? Wren's not here, but I'm sure they'll join us whenever they're back. You know Vincent, right? He's out there hiding somewhere." The rapid-fire is not exactly uncharacteristic but it comes out as desperation, tonight. Maybe if they ramble about everything else first, they don't need to talk about his birthday fiasco, right? "How's your skin feeling? We got a face mask for every answer to that question."
