"Remus, have you ever met a yeti?"

It took Remus a moment to realise what Harry had asked. He had been happily building a volcano for his homework, Remus couldn't work out where yetis came into things.

Raising an eyebrow at Sirius, Remus asked, "What do you mean, darling?"

"You do stuff with animals. Have you met one."

"Harry, babe, yetis aren't real!" Sirius tried to keep the tease out of his voice, he did…. He was just so surprised.

"Yes, they are!"

"No, they're not."

"Well, why not? If we can have pixies and centaurs and werewolves, why not yetis!" Harry's nine-year-old irrational fury started to leak through.

"Not all mythical creatures from stories are real, darling," Remus began, "like we have cerberuses but not orthruses, their two-headed cousins."

"Correct," chipped in Sirius, a smirk on his face, "the only two-headed dog around here is m-"

"Not the time, Pads."

This website is a good resource for LGBTQIA+ deaf people as it is on the National association for the Deaf’s website and includes information about different organizations they focus even further on LGBT resources. Throughout the webpage the history is also described as the Deaf LGBT+ section was added in 2010 after a conference in Philadelphia, PA. The website also shows that it may show some repression as it costs an additional $5.00 to join the LGBT member section, although this may just be for funding. As described above resources are also shown such as the Rainbow alliance of the Deaf, Deaf Queer resource center and the Deaf Lesbian Festival. These are all things that are good in that there is progress and acknowledgement of the LGBT community in the Deaf community but it also shows how the support has not always been there and was only formally added in 2010.

Dry hands.

Stretch my hands, skin taut. Cracks webbed throughout in a sickly pattern. Unhealthy. I keep telling myself to buy lotion and stash it in my car, but it never happens. Cringe at the feeling of parchment pigments gliding over the steering wheel in an attempt to just get a grip.  Maybe if my hands were lovely and skeletal. If they were more bone than flesh. I'd live with dry hands. Can I complain, though? This curse brought on my a frozen night. Just driving in this darkness with acid wind destroying my skin sends adrenaline spiking through my veins. What if I just got lost. What if I drove until I ran out of gas, then wandered still? Lay down in the autumn fields and let myself dissolve into the clouds I cannot see. Things are happening. People are laughing too loud. Holding each other close. Throwing themselves over bridges. My hands are dry.

I remember wanting to run in a meadow to Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, to loving him to I Will Follow you into the Dark, to wanting to look longingly back at someone as I depart the ferry to Clap your Hands. My head was too full of blips and hopes. Movies that were only clips and nothing Oscar worthy. My life in and of itself was average and dull. No one wanted to sit in the sill of a car window and scream at the morning, no one wanted to sit in an abandoned field and gaze at the stars; no one tried to do a food quest with me. My existence was simple and mundane as well as those of my friends. How tragic.

            However I suppose that I was interesting enough for Cal, or maybe he thought I was so boring that he ought to kill me off.
