I made some flags the other day, and it was a really profound experience. For those that know me well/have seen me in person, you know that I frequently write on my body and my shoes. Sometimes, it's just something basic in my daily life I need to remember to do. Often though, it's something I NEED to remember, a truth, an encouragement, something I NEED to know and be walking in. I need A LOT of encouragement. Writing things down is one way to do that for myself, to remind me Who God is, who I am (His), and what's true in a world that's chaotic and in a mind (mine) that can be prone to distraction and forgetfulness. Over and over in the Old Testament, the Israelites erect monuments to honor God and remind them what He had done. So, these flags became that--there's something deeply powerful about writing down true things, as declaration, as monument, as reminder, in permanent ink, in my imperfect handwriting--it reminded me that I don't have to be perfect to remember and walk in the Truth, that, no matter how short I fall, the Truth still shines through. God still is. He is still on His Throne. He still reigns. He still loves me. He still loves you. He still loves this world. I made 22 of these--they are all different, and they all are straight from me. They are meant to encourage, to be personal, and to remind you of truth. Some are words from my poetry, and others are just things that are important to me, things that I want to remember and that I thought you might need to hear and/or want to remember, too. There's a link below if you want to grab one. They're $10, and they, like everything you buy from me, help me pay my bills and continue making it and making art. Regardless though, I hope these encourage you. I love you, and so does God, no matter what any one or any voice says to the contrary. God bless you always :) <3
