I get the same problem as you. I tend to get 14 most of the time and reality I'm 21.

If he had all the resources to come to YOU, why didn’t he do it? You don’t need to give me the reason but in my opinion if I had the resources and the opportunity to visit my SO, I would do it in a heart beat.
