Mächtig ragen die beiden Türme der Stadtkirche in den Nachthimmel. Seit mehr als 800 Jahren schon versammelt sich die christliche Gemeinde der Bayreuther Innenstadt in der Stadtkirche „Heilig Dreifaltigkeit" zum Gottesdienst. Seit der Reformation ist sie die evangelische Hauptkirche der Markgrafschaft Bayreuth und Grablege der Bayreuther Markgrafen und ihrer Familien. Heute ist sie die Predigtkirche für die Regionalbischöfin des Kirchenkreises Bayreuth (Oberfranken) und Dekanatshauptkirche, aber auch Aufführungsort hochrangiger Kirchenmusik und Ausstellungsraum spiritueller Kunst. The two towers of the town church soar mightily into the night sky. For more than 800 years, the Christian community in Bayreuth's city center has been gathering for worship in the "Holy Trinity" town church. Since the Reformation it has been the main evangelical church of the Margraviate of Bayreuth and the burial place of the Bayreuth Margraves and their families. In diesem Jahr feiern wir das zehnjährige Jubiläum der Aufnahme des Markgräflichen Opernhauses in die Liste der UNESCO Weltkulturerbestätten. Die ersten Jahre waren hart, weil das Opernhaus wegen Restaurierungsarbeiten nicht zu besichtigen war. Aber seit 2018 erstrahlt es im neuen Glanz und gilt zurecht als das besterhaltene Barockopernhaus der Welt. This year we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the Margravial Opera House in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The first few years were tough, because the opera house could not be visited due to restoration work. Immer wieder schön ist das Motiv der Brautgasse mit Blick auf die beiden Stadtkirchentürme. Und erneut kann man die unterschiedlichen Formen der beiden Turmdächer gut erkennen. Das Dach des vorderen Turms ist etwas bauchiger, weil dort der Türmer mit seiner Familie gelebt hat. Man kann die Türmerstube im Sommer samstags besichtigen, sofern es die Pandemie zulässt. Heute eine Detailaufnahme vom Neuen Schloss in der Eremitage. Es ist mit Bergkristallen verziert, die sowohl dem Sonnentempel als auch den beiden Flügelbauten ihr märchenhaftes Aussehen geben. Die Erklärung hierfür ist, dass Apollos Palast aus Kristall bestand. Die Architektur soll auf diese Weise immateriell und wie aus reinem Licht gebaut wirken, wie es sich für den im Himmel angesiedelten Tempel des Sonnengottes gebührt. Unsere heutige Kirche befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Stadt Bayreuth. Nur ein paar Kilometer westlich liegt Eckersdorf mit der St. Ägidius Kirche, die ebenfalls zu den Markgrafenkirchen gehört. Today‘s church is close to the city of Bayreuth.
