Amsterdam Canal
Wednesday 16.10.13
This was the last day of the tour. I got a little bit of a sleep in, not easy to do when its about 40 degrees in the room and everyone else had woken up before me. When I went down to breakfast a couple people were still in the common area, deciding what to do for the day.
Most people had gone to the Anne Frank Museum, but by time we would get there the lines would be extreme and we wanted to see more of Amsterdam. So we settled for the Amsterdam Dungeon.
I didn't realise that it was suppose to be a scary thing, until we got inside. I don't know why I didn't think it would be, and that it didn't click but oh well. It was Burtie, Lindo, Jake, Jacinta and I that went in. Straight away Burtie got picked on, then Jacinta. Poor Jacinta, in every room they would pick on her. I think its because she stood out with her bleach blonde hair, when everyone else was brunette.
At the end of the attraction there is a tiny little roller coast which was pretty fun. When we made it outside and had gotten our bearings again, we thought we would head back towards the hostel to this mexican restaurant that had been recommended to us. Unfortunately it was closed so we had to find food elsewhere.
I wanted to get a tattoo today and the parlour was just down the road from where we were, so I went there first to see if I could get one. I was in luck.
I wanted to get script done, and none of the artists that were there could do that very well, so they called in the script guy just for me. So when I knew I would be getting one in the next hour, I went in search of food. And food is not very hard to find in Amsterdam, especially good food. Literally everywhere is delicious.
So with a full stomach I walked back to the parlour, a little nervous but very excited. The guy and I planned out what I wanted, he did the outline free hand, which I thought was very impressive.
A couple of the boys had already gotten their mouse tattoos so there was a crowd watching me get mine done.
This studio is set up really cool, the main part of the shop is floor level, but then it breaks into two levels and has glass in front of both so you can watch people getting their tattoos done.
And so it begun, it didn't really hurt, I already have a tattoo so I knew what I was in for. The guy was so friendly and was chatting the whole time. Steve wanted to sit with someone so he came down and sat beside me, thinking I would need me hand held. Which I did at one point. I didn't cry though, it doesn't hurt that much.
It was finished almost as soon as it was started. You know its a good tattoo when the artist takes a photo of it. He was so proud and happy so I knew I picked the right place/person to get this done.
Straight after my tattoo was finished we went in search of a coffee shop, to get a space cake. I had never had weed before this, so it was a whole crazy new experience.
I realised at this point I had done a lot of firsts, and was really happy with my choices. This trip had made for excellent memories.
And so, the group of us, all high, walked through Amsterdam to the chinese buffet where we were having dinner. I'm pretty sure they take us here on purpose, seeing as it is all you can eat.
Another Topdeck group was there, they weren't having nearly as much as we were. Scotty and Dee said this was the best tour either of them had ever had, they'd never gotten along with every single person before. Go us.
Everyone else had finished eating, their plates and glasses had been cleared. Except for my table. We were all still eating. Whoops. They managed to get our plates away from us finally, and they we were off to get a canal cruise that had free wine and beer! Score!
Dee had these really great waffles on the cruise, I think they are called Street Waffles. These things are delicious, I ate about 5.
I remember being really out of it, and staring at Scotty, hoping he would come over. Which he did. We were getting pretty cosy, then everyone decided to come over and talk to us.
That was probably for the best though, I mean, I'm pretty sure if people hadn't interupted things would have happened. But in hindsight I'm glad they didn't.
And so being well out of it, I walked back to the hostel. Do you know how hard it is to get on to the top bunk without a ladder when in the state I was. Not very easy let me tell you. When I finally made it up onto my bed I fell asleep in my clothes.
The girls came in and were making so much noise that it woke me up. In a panic I kept saying we had to get up and get on the bus. I was freaking out, my clothes were all over the place and I had to pack super quick.
Then Rhi decided to mention that it wasn't 6:30am like I believed it was, but infact 12:30am. I'd only gone to bed an hour ago.
We all had a really big laugh about this moment in the morning.
Grimmy: So did you listen to BBC3 last night or do you get your fill of Nick Grimshaw between 6:30 and 10, Monday to Friday?
Finchy: My housemate was slightly annoyed that we had to keep going back to BBC3 to listen to you. He was like "Hey, you hear enough of his voice!" I was like yes, but...
Grimmy: Yeah, but you're obsessed with me.
Finchy: I think it's the other way around.
Grimmy: Nononononono, I don't think it is.
so my concert (16-10-13) was the first concert after that blind article supposedly about Harry cheating on Louis with maybe grimmy, and i could just see and sense that something was off between Harry and Louis that night. Like Louis seemed to refuse to look at Harry, but Harry would sneak glances when he wasn't looking, and he always looked sad. And they didn't talk to show any gestures or touches with each other and i was so sad because I wanted to see some larry action!! And Harry was singing some lines of songs that could easily relate to him and Louis will full on passion I was scared his heart would like break through his chest or something. And on the big screen Louis had bags under his eyes and his eyes just looked tired and sore from either exhaustion or crying; or from both, I couldn't tell. But then there was a twitter question and Harry stared at Louis before whispering to Niall about the song Still The One - Shania Twain and I knew he was trying to tell Louis that he's still the one and all and it broke my heart because Louis kind of just stood there not really looking at Harry and trying to act like he didn't care but I mean deep down we aaalllll know he does AND I WANTED THEM TO LIKE KISS AND MAKE UP HONESTLY. But since they were all okay at the 17-10-13 concert the next night I'm guessing they worked things out the next day thank god. But yeah that's my short summary of 'Larry' a few nights ago.
