Can I request a Peter Parker X reader for the 16k drabbles; "it's okay to cry" (irl prompt based on a car accident I had today where I had to keep myself together for my friend who was way more panicky than I was at first, but then the panic hit me all at once and I started sobbing in the middle of the road :/) thank you!!
You felt like a fool. An idiot.
Stop crying. Stop it. But you couldn’t. Because the tears just kept coming and your eyes kept watering and it was taking everything within you not to just burst into tears in that moment.
Don’t. Don’t do it.
“Hey.”
Your eyes fall shut at the sound of Peter’s voice, your shoulders tensing when his hand falls on them. You can’t stop yourself from crying when he speaks to you like that, all understanding and soft and god, could you be anymore pathetic?
“I’m sorry,” you whisper, voice cracking as you wipe at your tears. “I’m sorry, sorry. I shouldn’t– I don’t know why i’m crying.” Turning to him, you attempt at a smile, but it just looks like a grimace more than anything and you continue wiping at your eyes. “I’m being silly. I need to– It’s–”
“It’s okay,” Peter whispers, ducking his head slightly to meet your gaze. “Hey, it’s okay.”
You shake your head.
Peter’s grip tightens slightly, and he calls for you, making you look at him once again.
“It’s okay to cry.”
And that’s all it takes. Those four words. Suddenly, you can’t hold it back anymore and a choked sob leaves your lips, your vision blurring as your eyes shut, biting your lip.
“Hey, hey,” Peter whispers, moving to wrap his arms around you. It’s a little awkward given that you’re in a car, but he makes it work and it’s enough to help you calm, even just a little. “Hey, it’s okay. Don’t worry.
We’re gonna be okay.”
