had to explain to my parents what the flashing strobe lights in my area are for and they're to prevent homeless people from sleeping in those areas and my mom is like "they can just go to a shelter" and i had to explain to her that 1.) they're probably all full since there's a high number of unhoused people in my area and 2.) it's never that simple, a lot of homeless people are men and most shelters are for women and children
idk how people just assume if you're homeless that you can get a shelter to house you easily and quickly. it's even worse if you're physically disabled or mentally ill
does anyone wanna cut me open and play with my guts or do i gotta do it myself
i find human's ability to nurture and care for creatures and people they have no benefit in helping really beautiful. humans will look at a struggling animal who cannot feed itself and treat it with empathy and kindness. even things that are small, even things other humans find disgusting or worthless.
