Hey -- curious about your confirmation of the Black List comments from writerlyn. I'd love to hear more about your views on the hosting site.
It’s tough because the site really doesn’t make it easy to discover scripts or writers you didn’t explicitly visit the site to read.
As the system currently exists, you more or less need to purchase paid reads in order to get eyes on your script, and those reads only get it recommended to other (pro) readers if you score an 8 or above. Throw on top that these reads take, on average, 10 days and it means that your script spends a lot of time not being read or rated at all.
Not only that, the list of “related scripts” or “high rated scripts” (one of the only ways to browse the database) is cluttered up with scripts not hosted on the site - It’s full of scripts that have been on The Blacklist (the annual list, not the site) in years past…
Overall, I wouldn’t say it was a waste of money, as the comments I got were good (despite an unusually harsh score), but it’s not yet the “way to get an agent/representation” that the site would want you to believe.

Thanks! I do occasionally pause before the "publish" button, wondering if I'm the only person who thinks this or that is funny, and the Connery thing was certainly one of those pauses.
But you know what? I still laugh at nearly everything I've made here, and I've had dozens of posts that I thought were hilarious that no one cared about, so oh well.
I'll take the word "disturbing" and a slow clap as badges of honor any day of the week.
Here's a suggestion for anyone with too much time on their hands: stroll through my My GIFs tag here and let me know which is your favorite and/or the one you'd most classify as "disturbing". I'll post any replies I get!
Regarding your blueprints post -- when writing a screenplay I spend time thinking about main characters as I search real estate sites to find the house they live in. Pictures of the actual space have inspired many scenes.
No matter if you’re writing a screenplay or a novel, it’s important for you, as an author, to be aware of your setting. A lot of novels set in present day center around homes, and it’s going to be easier for you to give your audience a sense of space if you have a concrete, mental picture of a home. A couple of good online house plan sources are:

If you choose not to look for a pre-made house, it’s also helpful to draw out a blueprint of the home that you want your characters to live in, even if it’s just simple boxes. This way, you’ll be less likely to forget about how you described the path to a room and avoid having to go back in your own writing and try to find your last description.
