Melrose and Emmy Award eligibility...
From the rule book:
14d. Hanging episodes/parts eligibility for limited series: If the majority of the total running time of the episodes/parts of a limited series airs within the current eligibility year and has one or more episodes/parts that fall into the subsequent eligibility year, the "hanging episodes/parts" that are in a contiguous rollout on the same distribution platform join in eligibility the already-qualified-as-eligible episodes/parts of the limited series, as long as the complete limited series is broadcast prior to the first round voting deadline.
In plain English, the 2018 Emmy eligibility period ends on May 31st. The first three episodes of Melrose broadcast before that, on the 12th, 19th, and 26th. The last two episodes broadcast on June 2nd and 9th, so ALL FIVE WILL BE ELIGIBLE THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!
Even better, the nomination period starts June 11th, TWO DAYS AFTER MELROSE ENDS and it will be fresh in everyone’s minds!!!!
So yeah, he should most definitely get nominated again. We’ll revisit his chances to win on July 12th, after the nominations come out. Would be so nice for him to have a second Emmy, like book ends on either side of his Olivier.
Squeeee!
