The Home of Sir Walter Scott,
Sword and Scabbard from Newstead, Scotland dated to the 2nd Century CE on display at the Trimontium Museum in Melrose, Scotland
This sword and scabbard are similar to ones found in Mainz, Germany and Pompeii, Italy. It was one of the shortest of the Gladii, Roman swords, and was made during a time of change under the height of the Empire in the 1st and 2nd centuries.
