Excited to announce that the original forty four panels from the 176 foot "Geo #98" mural created for the @sandiegomuseumofart in @balboapark are now released! The mural in it's entirety is the largest solo work to date in the history of the SDMA. A few words from @laurensiry curator of @1805gallery . - “1805 Gallery is thrilled to offer a selection of Monty Montgomery’s original works from the Geo Series that were originally commissioned by @polychromist of the San Diego Museum of Art in 2019 for their annual “Art Alive” event. Monty’s geometric paintings are clean precise blocks of color that are effortlessly layered and intersect to create the illusion of depth. Montgomery is known for his Geo Series, a lifelong painting exploration with endless color and shape combinations. Bright blue triangles, fire-orange squares, lime-green trapezoids are just a few of the shapes and colors that compose Monty’s paintings. He has created over 140 works in the Geo series to date. His preferred paint palette is a collection of vibrant @montanacans that he selects as he develops a painting or mural.
