John and Yoko photographed in the grounds of Kenwood by Susan Wood in c. December 1968, part of a commission for a photo-essay for Look magazine, which was published on 18th March 1969. However, the photoshoot nearly didn’t happen.
“When I met [John and Yoko] at the Apple office I felt as though they were pulling away from the whole idea of the picture shoot. I said to John, ‘It seems to me you have other things on your plate today.’ We backed off.”

Instead she decided to take a shopping trip to London’s Kings Road with journalist Betty Rollin.
“John said: ‘Can we come along?’ So they did - they needed to shop. It broke the ice. We had a very pleasant time; we got to know each other very well and the next day when we came to their house in the suburbs they were wonderful, like old friends.”
