#1. Be the Change you want to see.
As citizens under 18 years of age, we've had a lot of frustrating moments in our lives. Be it denied entry to a cinema for an "A - rated" movie, or being simply shunned away by adults simply because we aren't "old" enough to be taken seriously. But I think the greatest bane of it all is not having a say in the domestic affairs of our country.
The Universal Adult Suffrage very blatantly states that since we don't pay taxes, we can't vote. But that doesn't mean we can be silenced. People often complain via Facebook statuses, twitter posts or online blogs, about the sorry state of affairs in Mother India. Majority of these people are under 18.
Let's stand together and channel this anger into something extraordinary, because let's face it. The fight for justice is a fight larger than all of us. As children (quite literally) of Mother India, we need to ensure that our voices are heard. 44% of the country is below 18. That's 44% of a billion's voices which aren't being heard. Here at 18minus, we plan to change that. As the future of the country, our needs must be satisfied. Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi talk about youth empowerment in their speeches. So let's ensure that these are more than just rabble-rousing oratory gimmicks, and give it some merit.
Be the change you want to see.
