Loretta Young 💚💚
Loretta Young wasn't afraid to choose a color and run with it, as was evidenced by this emerald green dress she wore to the Oscars in 1948, when she was nominated for a Best Actress award. She marked the event by wearing a voluminous, emerald- green dress with a garland of oversized bows and ruffles running down the length of the skirt. The bright green dress was paired with elbow-length gloves in the same color, creating a fashion-forward picture.
The gown was created by Adrian Greenberg, the costume designer behind the fanciful outfits of The Wizard of Oz — including the red-sequined ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland. For the Oscars, Young had the turtleneck cape removed, and instead went with a strappy neckline.
