❤️🎀💥I found some treasure tehe 💥🎀❤️
Earlier today I decided to explore a link I saw on @lawless-ladies’s reblog of @jeanjeanie61’s post about Grace Gaynor. After a little bit of searching, I found this:
(Note: I’ve been looking for this kind of thing for a while and when I found it, I was so excited!)
Here are my thoughts:
I finally now know why Grace hated Burt. To be fair, one of the hosts of BatChums said in a comment that Grace said he was an “obnoxious kid” but didn’t go too deep into it. Now that I can see the full interview, I have more context. Grace saying that Burt was full of himself is an understandable reason for why she didn’t like him. I swear Grace is really showing her age here because she compared Burt to other “appreciative” kids (generally speaking). She was 33 when she was on the show. Also I have a feeling she’s roasting Burt a little bit because she said that his lack of acting experience made him a perfect Robin! 😂
I was not expecting her comments about Vito Scotti. To my knowledge, prior to finding this interview, I knew that she got along with Burgess Meredith, Lane Bradford, and Vito Scotti well, but I was not expecting her to say she had people who she knew that were friends of Vito. Her comments of Burgess don’t surprise me all that much.
The thing that surprised me the most was the gum bit that she wanted to do. What is up with that?! I understand that it was meant to be a New York thing (considering that she was born in New York) but outside of that, it’s just so random! I kinda wish the director would’ve let Grace chew gum on screen. Chickadee is already a fun character and having her chew gum would’ve added an extra layer of silly! I guess now I should start making jokes about gum being Chickadee’s favorite snack! 😂
I’m glad she had a lot of fun playing Chickadee! I had a feeling that she did considering her wonderful performance. Not all of the Batman actors felt the same. (insert Shelley Winters and David Wayne here. 😞)
Bottom line, I’m very happy I found this interview. Considering that Grace Gaynor wasn’t as well-known as her co-stars, her account of what it was like working on the Batman show feels like a lucky gift to the world (at least in my eyes <3)
Here’s the link: http://tothebatpoles.blogspot.com/2011/10/batscholar-on-episodes-61-and-62.html?m=1
(Some behind-the-scenes photos for kicks and giggles <3 :)
(I wonder if she has a stash of gum in that robe lmao)
Guys, we missed out on Chickadee putting two-and-two together about Batman! GASP ‼️
Never play a game of hide and seek with Chickadee. Ever. I can’t imagine it would go well. I’m pretty sure she’d have a fully loaded umbrella gun while she’s playing. Also, if she finds you, let’s just say it ends in a way that would be fun for her…
How I look every time I write fun character headcanons lmao
✨🤠💖Batman 66 Week Day One - Team Up!🎀❤️✨
Description: Penguin and Shame are back, but they’re having a battle about who can operate a better business! Penguin reopened his restaurant (The Penguin’s Nest) while Shame tries to operate a filming studio in Western Land, even though he knows nothing about making movies.
While their villain bosses are quarreling, Chickadee and Okie Annie come up with a scheme of their own: hosting this year’s Gotham State Fair! The main attraction is a whimsical shooting show where Annie and Chickadee are the stars! Little does the audience know that girls’ victims (the Dynamic Duo) are behind the painted wooden targets! Gasp!
Relationship(s): Chickadee and Okie Annie, Penguin and Shame
Fandom: Batman 1966, DC
Rating: General Audiences
TWs: Guns.
Prompt: Team Up (@batman-66-events)
Say that again! I dare you!
I’ll take “Batman characters that you shouldn’t mess with” for $500, Alex.
