Maple Thoughts: As much as I enjoy ArtFight, I’ve had to take a break from it because it’s kinda given me art burnout. That tends to happen when I feel like I have to draw stuff quickly and as a result I tend to not like how the drawings look. It’s a vicious cycle that leaves me mentally tired and questioning my abilities as an artist.

I probably won’t be doing many too many attacks during this final week of ArtFight…

Quick Rant: I have a DNI post aimed at people who regularly post explicit content (like nudity or underage characters in 18 plus scenarios). Well, someone who fits that bill liked that post! I ended up blocking them.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.

I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.

Okay, my opinion has changed. My 2nd favorite henchwoman is Maid Marilyn! I like her because of her sassiness towards the Archer. Despite that, she had a soft side and liked Batman. I also enjoyed her Brooklyn accent (she had a habit of saying “youse guys” quite often). She also spent most her time eating, which amuses me. 🫶🏽
