June and Marc pictured circa 1968 when they were starting their relationship.
"The day he came into the office he went into Peter's room, which was next door to mine, and I was typing and suddenly something hit me on the head and I stopped typing. It was like an electric shock, the most extraordinary thing. I'll never know or love anybody like that again, ever." ~ June talking about when she met Marc.
"There would be June, who was meant to be answering the phones and doing all those things that women were meant to do back then, and she would be constantly canoodling, and they'd be staring into each other's eyes. She'd apparently done it with Syd (Barrett) too. I'd missed that, but I couldn't help noticing it with Marc. It really was very intense. Finally it got to the crunch and I said to her, 'I don't mind what you do. It's up to you. But you can either just look after Marc, or you can have nothing to do with him and just look after other things, or you can leave and be Mrs Marc and just live with Marc and be in love. I don't mind, that's up to you. But what we can't do is have you sitting round in the office with him on your lap.' It was- definitely him sitting on her lap.
