I've been contemplating my headcanons about Carl and Pansy's personalities and dynamic again, and I'm just thinking about the idea of them both being people who relate to others in very transactional ways, but in opposite directions. Carl not knowing how to get people to spend time on him without bribing them, and Pansy not knowing how to relate to people without trying to get something out of them.
friendless rich guy who was sort of isolated and neglected growing up who is very lonely but doesn't realize it x woman who grew up in poverty and has been in show business and commodified since she was a child, who is also very lonely and also doesn't realize it. and their problems click together like lego
