APRIL 16, 1973 THE SECOND GRAND TOWER UFO SIGHTINGS - Grand Tower, Illinois. On March 22nd and April 16th, 1973 a large, doughnut-shaped UFO was observed - by power plant facility managers - to be hovering above Grand Tower’s Central Illinois Power Plant (possibly siphoning off power) before being chased off by American military jets. The Grand Tower sightings happened at the same time as the nearby "Brushy Creek Flap" - which occurred around the Piedmont, Missouri area - and were part of the large sightings wave that was occurring across the nation in 1973.
