Elia and her children in a Yugioh AU
Just a random idea that likely will never be written, but some basic points:
The Martell family hailing from Egypt and is a well-known and respected company in the business world, with Elia and her children moving to Japan to expand the family business around Duelist Kingdom
Elia is divorced from Rhaegar after a disasterous marriage where she took the children and left him while Aegon was still a baby, and House Targaryen is noticed for being on the edge of bankrutt because of his and Aerys' HORRIBLE ideas about quite a lot of things that proves to be failures (KaibaCorp under Seto's leadership refuses to do anything with the Targaryens)
Rhaenys is in the same class as Yugi and the Gang at Domino High School, while Aegon is about the same age as Shizuka
The Martells have no ties to the Nameless Pharaoh or the Tomb Keepers, yet ironically helps Yugi and Atem more in their search about his past by simply suggesting ideas like CHECKING what facts they already know, like that Duel Monsters first appeared in Ancient Egypt and if so, WHICH Pharaoh reigned then? Is Yami possibly related to that ruler, in that case? With Sugoroku mentioning his tomb being in the Vallery of the Kings, that puts him as having reigned during the New Kingdom
Rhaenys would be quite blunt with Anzu and telling the other girl to straighten out her feelings for Yugi and Yami, like "Which one of them are MORE LIKELY to be around in the longer run? Yugi, who is actually alive, or Yami, the ancient Spirit who does not have his own body and MAY actually want to enter the Afterlife because he wants to rejoin his ancient family and friends he had back in his actual lifetime? If she is more willing to confress her feelings to Yami, then WHY does she act jealous the moment another girl is around Yugi?"
Rhaenys MAY prove her abobe point about the love triangle by asking Yugi out on a date, rather than Yami, and force Anzu to realize that if she keeps friendzoning Yugi, he will truly belive that she prefers Yami over him
Aegon is very interested in magic and how it was used in the past, but creeps out when it comes to Shadow Games due to the whole "loser in a duel will lose their soul" or the other Penalty Games
Elia would NOT be impressed with Shadi's way of doing stuff, aka him being a ass in using the Key to brainwash people and causing trouble for Yugi and Yami with his telling Marik that the Pharaoh aka Atem was to blame for his father's death
Rhaenys and Aegon both play Duel Monsters, but try to avoid using a Dragon-themed deck due to not wanting to "copying" Kaiba and because it is well-known that House Targaryen's sigil is a three-headed dragon, they want NOTHING to do with their biological father
They naturally would try and help against Zorc in the Memory World arc and during the Ceremonial Battle
