March 8th, 1994 - The Downward Spiral
Released today alongside Soundgarden’s most well known album is Nine Inch Nails’ most well known album, The Downward Spiral. The 14 track album peaked at 23 on the billboard charts and to date has sold nearly 4 million copies.
The album as well as it’s 4th single, Hurt, were nominated for Grammys (the Hurt video is above).
Fun weird fact, the album was recorded in the house where Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family in 1969. Trent Rezner was the final residant of the house, moving out in December of 1993. In 1994 the house was demolished and a new house was built on the property.
