Well it must be boring losing all the time...
Today we continue the saga of Ned staying with the Sugdens, saying the wrong thing and irritating Sarah.
Scene 1: It’s breakfast and Robert asks Ned a simple question if Kathy is gonna die and he brings David/Linda and that Andy’s gran dying was different. Then he pipes up again about the boys not seeing Kathy until she’s ‘out of hospital til she’s her happy smiling face again’ aggravating Sarah.
Robert: Ned?
Ned: What mate?
Robert: Is Kathy gonna die?
Jack: No son.
Sarah: Well at least we hope not. Kathy’s a strong woman, full of a will to live.
Jack: Isn’t that right, Ned?
Ned: Oh aye. She’s a fighter. Not many people Kathy’s age die, except for our David or Linda.
Scene 2: Andy’s winning at a videogame and comments about winning all the time (why does this make me think of our Robert losing in his schemes). Ned again makes comments about how the boys are bouncing back from the the morning and ‘the ability to switch off your worries, you know. Kathy’s at death’s door and they’ve got homework to do.’ This again aggravates Sarah. Yes, a pattern is building.
Andy: Well it must be boring losing all the time.
Robert: I don’t lose all the time.
Andy: Yeah you do.
