I was only joking. She blames him for everything.
The aftermath of Vic’s death and Andy realizing Billy was responsible.
Jack & Sarah (with Ned) are relieved (‘I know it sounds dreadfully selfish’ Sarah says) that Andy hadn’t been there at the time because of his paper route.
Scene: Robert coming down having hoped for ‘a long lie in.’ Jack mentions the robbery and Robert makes a joke about Andy having an alibi since Viv blames him for everything. It’s then both Robert and Andy learn about Vic’s death.
Jack: There’s been a robbery at the post office.
Andy: When?
Jack: Yesterday lunchtime.
Robert: Viv Windsor can’t blame you. You were having dinner with us.
Sarah: What’s that supposed to mean?
Robert: I was only joking. She blames him for everything.
The last scene has Andy confronting Billy and telling him how Terry found Vic and that ‘he’d already died.’ Andy tries to run off but Billy tries to explain the situation that Vic ‘went for me’ and that he told him ‘people were coming’ and he ‘didn’t realize he was hurt that bad.’ Andy doesn’t believe anything Billy tries to tell him (‘You liar! I hate you! I hate your guts! I wish you were dead!) after everything he did for him (looking after him him, nicking money, would have went away with him) but ‘he had to ruin it.’ When Andy goes too far with words (‘what are you gonna eh? Kill me?!’), Billy slaps him. Billy puts the pressure on a sobbing Andy to stay quiet so Andy won’t get the blame (‘They’ll blame me. They always do.’).
Andy: Now you killed Vic Windsor. Now everyone’s gonna hate me!
In the next episode, Andy didn’t keep quiet but went to Jack. The police get involved and Billy is taken into custody.
