Let's stay positive & come out stronger at the end of this extended lockdown. Till then, stay indoors, stay safe!
DISCLAIMER: This post is not me looking for someone to say, “Oh it’s okay sweetie, it’s perfectly normal to feel this way.” I honestly do not care if it’s normal I just happened to be thinking of this when I logged onto Tumblr today. Thank you <3
Sometimes I feel like the way I feel about romance and relationships isn’t normal. Most girls my age are dreaming of their future weddings and how many kids they’ll have, etc. etc. Not me. I mean don’t get me wrong. I’ve thought about it. I know exactly what I want my wedding dress to look like. I know that if I do have kids I want 3. I know that my dream husband is Tom Holland. Or at least he would be if I wanted to get married. (Also if, you know he wasn’t super famous). I’ve talked to Camber about this, but I don’t want really care if I get married. Or if I have kids. I’m not saying I don’t want to be in a healthy, longterm relationship, but I don’t know if I want to get married. And while I want to be able to be in a healthy, longterm relationship, I don’t understand how people can do it. Monogamy is great, I’m definitely not a polygamist, but to be able to be in one relationship your whole life? I feel like you would grow apart from each other. I honestly have no idea why I feel this way. My parents have been happily married for 18 years. I’m constantly reading romance books. I just don’t understand it. I’m sure I’ll feel differenlty as I get older, but maybe I’ll be one of those people who are married to their jobs. Is it bad that I’m honestly okay with that though? I would rather be successful in my career and have a good relationship with myself before I’m in a relationship. I mean, as of right now, I’m open to having a boyfriend, but I’m not actively searching for one.
Also kids. As of right now, I do not care if I ever have kids. I told Camber that if I do get married, I will leave it up to my husband. It’s not that I don’t want kids, it’s just that, I would rather, like I said before, be successful in my career and have a good relationship with myself before I bring another human into this world. Before I have another person to take care of. I’m sure my views on marriage and children will change as I grow older, whether that means I want them or I don’t. I’m not too worried about it right now. I’m only 17. I know I have plenty of time. For now, I’m going to watch Jack and Gab as I procrastinate doing my homework.
19 DAYS UNTIL I’M AN ADULT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
