Life Update: Will probs be long, feel free to skip it
I haven’t updated for close to a month now, here’s most of the important stuff - I think.
Little Squish - 33+4:
This pregnancy has been an absolute breeze just like Teddy's. He’s been head down since 29 weeks. I keep envisioning everything going smoothly this time around.
I went to the hospital today to get blood tests done and ran into our student midwife from last pregnancy - which was a crazy coincidence because I was going to go in later and she was only there to get signed off on one of her births - so I was obviously meant to run into her.
She’s agreed to come back on with us this time which I’m super excited about. She was such fantastic support for both T and I last pregnancy and I’m sure she’ll be the same this time. She’s excited to be with us for another pregnancy too, which is just awesome.
We have an appointment at the hospital I’m birthing at on Tuesday which T and our student midwife will be at and I’m hoping also having her there will help to calm his nerves a bit more when it comes to a VBAC.
Teddy:
Going well at daycare. He’s still only doing one day a week, but the morning drop offs are getting a bit easier. We’re contemplating sending him two days in the new year, depending on how hectic things are with Little Squish and if they have another place open up etc.
He’s grown up so much since he started going which is incredible as well as sad. He’s no longer my little baby.
T:
Has to get his bottom wisdom teeth out. We’re going to see the specialist tomorrow so they can look at the x-rays and set a date for surgery and tell us how many limbs we need to hand over to pay for it.
He’s also gone on this giant tangent/rant about canola/vegetable oil and it is currently banned from the house. It’s making groceries incredibly difficult because I have to check the ingredients of everything to make sure it’s not in it. Thank goodness I do the groceries online and not in store because I think I’d go nuts if I was standing in the aisles checking every thing's ingredients.
Me:
Tired. Cranky on occasion. Coffee isn’t agreeing with me atm; I’m pretty sure I’m having caffeine withdrawals.
Our maternity photos are on the 15th of October at sunrise and I’m both hella excited because they’re going to be amazing, and also dreading being up early enough to see the sunrise at 6:10. I am not a morning person by any stretch.
I haven’t even mentioned newborn photos to T. Waiting to hear how much his teeth are going to cost before I bring it up.
Life in General:
BIL and MIL still living with us. We’re wanting to move in Feb when this lease ends because they’ve just dropped the price on the house $26,000 and I’m anticipating even more sale inspections than usual. I’d like for us to move back into our own space; it’s getting hard to live with them and keep the peace.
I’m also going to write to the real estate about sale inspections when Little Squish comes and try to arrange for them to only be on one day at whatever time for at least the first 6 weeks.
Tomorrow T, Teddy and I are headed to Sydney for an overnighter. We’ve got a friend’s wedding on the Saturday and I haven’t even begun to think about packing yet. It’s going to be hectic - T will take Teddy to daycare in the morning so he keeps his routine, when T gets back we’ll pack the car etc, go to T’s specialist appointment, pick Teddy up from daycare, drive to Sydney.
We’ll probs arrive around 7pm. I’ve made us spag bol to take so we can just heat up food when we get there for dinner. On Saturday morning it’ll be - breakfast from the hotel (as they offer a continental brekkie for $9pp), get ready for the wedding, go to wedding, drive home. Unless T’s wisdom teeth surgery isn’t going to cost what we think it is, in which case we’ll might stay another night and go to the aquarium on the Saturday afternoon, then drive back home on Sunday.
Louis: My mum always used to say our accent to be fair, if it’s thick, sometimes you sound a bit common.
