“You know...I thought working with kids would be awesome but after dealing with a little girl crying over her...monthly coming early...that was a rude awakening. I think I’m going to stick with second graders instead.”
“Where did I put it--oh..hey I didn’t see you there, have you read this book...it’s uh...rather interesting?” Isabelle glanced down at the cover and quickly place it back on the book shelf. “So! What brings you around?”
“everytime i see my book about helios listed under fiction it makes me laugh, how our experience was so insane to ever be believed.” a smile, curving in a sense of reminiscence of an equally blessing and painful past. it seemed fitting to immortalise the story in writing. “making fake names for everyone took far longer than it should’ve.”
Heather looked up as someone approached her table. She was sitting at the library, dozens of books stacked up and a few others open in the mess of papers that was her research. “I guess you can sit here,” she told the other.
“I’m gullible but not that gullible,” Lindsay told Alice who pouted in return. The mother chuckled lightly and leaned back on her chair, watching her daughter grumble as she ate her ice cream. The two were sitting in an outdoor table at the ice cream parlor, their huge dog sleeping calmly at Lindsay’s feet.
Marissa stood in front of her son who was giving her the biggest puppy eyes she has seen all because she wouldn’t give him one of Isabelle’s cookies she brought from her cabin. “No Chance, please don’t give me that look.” She whined, bending down to kiss his cheek before handing over a cookie. “Fine you little devil, here.”
“Honestly I can say, I sort of missed this place. Never thought I would have said such a thing.”
“When Marissa told me we’re arriving back here, I thought she was just pulling my leg. Well guess the joke is on me.”
